High Performance Upgrade

The Shelby GT-500 is a very exclusive Limited Edition street legal Neighborhood Electric Vehicle (NEV) upgrade.  It includes the same body style as the orther E2 models, but with a variety of extra features that include:  more pwer, special wheels, special highback seats with embrodoidered Shelby Cobra emblems, automotive safety glass, special graphics, and woodgrained interior components.

Speed & Range

The Shelby GT-500 accelerates faster than all of the other models and has the same speed and range as all of our other NEV models built by Tomberlin.  In order to be street legal as a low speed vehicle (LSV), all of these vehicles include a governor that limits their speed to 25mph.  As with the other Tomberlins, this Shelby GT-500 can go 30+ miles between charges.

Motor Type

The Shelby GT-500 features an 18 Horsepower AC motor that goes from 0 to 20 in just 3.8 seconds.  This high perfromance motor can reach 6,000 RPM and produces 81 foot lbs of torque with its 650 Amp Curtis controller.  The higher torque means lower power consumption.
